And the weekend is sounding better even as I write this sentence.
Some of you may know this, but for those of you who don’t, I have finally found a job that pays more than $9.00-10/hr. I think this economy buzz causes people to not want to spend or hire, even when it IS safe. So, finding a job has been rather difficult. I started this Monday at a place that installs office furniture for commercial businesses. It’s not the desired job, but it renders that commodity we all like having: money (is money a commodity?).
I get to meet some new folks, hopefully create some relationships, and possibly even share the Gospel. Actually, I was able to do that with a person on my first day! I had no intentions on talking to this person about Jesus (just because it was my first day), but it came up and we talked about it! That was really cool, but what hasn’t been cool is the fact that I’ve been sick for about a week now.
And I cough as I type this.
I’ve been sick every day this week. It’s terrible. And my job has been a bit exhaustive too. First, my daughters had it, one-by-one. After we finally were relieved that our daughters got over their illness, I get it! What’s up with that?!? If I was a word-of-faith teacher, I would be up a creek without a paddle, because my illness would be a direct result of my lack of faith in having good health. But I’m not. I think God can use this for a purpose, even if the purpose is to be more reliant on Him.
But I don’t wish to have this sick, whatever it is, any longer. I feel horrible. How do you exhibit the Gospel while being ill? It makes me want to cough every time I talk! What’s your suggestion on sharing the Gospel while being ill?
