It Broke

And I am the one who broke it.

I love listening to sermons. Actually, I have 13 podcasts that I update and listen to regularly via iTunes. I sometimes listen to other resources, but these are the main people I listen to. They are:

  • Acts 29 Network Sermons (Multiple)
  • Desiring God Sermon Audio (John Piper)
  • Grace to You: Pulpit Podcast (John McArther)
  • Just Thinking (RZIM)
  • Let My People Think (RZIM)
  • Mars Hill Church: Mark Driscoll Audio
  • NAMB Church Planting Group Podcast
  • National New Church Conference
  • Passage Church Podcast
  • Renewing Your Mind with R.C. Sproul
  • Stand to Reason Weekly Podcast
  • Truth for Life Broadcast (Alister Begg)
  • The Village Church – Sermon Audio
  • I used to have many more, but I realized I only listened to these frequently.

    Here’s the point:

    My mp3 player broke and . . .
I haven’t listened to any of these messages in a week!

Yes, I’m a podcast junkie. And I like it.

I think I am experiencing withdraws. I keep looking at my broken mp3 player as I walk past it as if it’s all just a dream.

What is also disturbing is that I had just started listening to the ESV audio Bible. This is the first time I was giving an audio bible a try (was just never appealing to me—I’d rather read), and I was half way through Timothy.

So my quest has begun to find a new mp3 player. I found an iPod touch knock-off for $60.00, it’s just coming up with the $$$ to purchase it.

I’m afraid to say that I may not be listening to sermons and lectures nearly as much as I am used to.

Pray for me as I lament over this untimely catastrophe.

    1. STAY AWAY FROM THE KNOCK OFFS! trust me. They are $60 down the drain. You may want to get another Sansa or Sony. A little cheaper than iPods, but better than knockoffs!

And sell some product at Half Price books. We have done pretty well there lately.

      • You mean… get rid *sniffle* of some of my *sniffle* books?

      • Right? Now I have to wait until I get some dough to purchase another one. Stinks.

I bought Judi a Sansa Clip for Christmas and she absolutely LOVES it. She had an iPod before that had been in a slow decline. I got a 1gb model… sure, it's not much space, but it's just for podcasts so she updates it once a week. She hasn't filled a quarter of it yet without deleting the old stuff off.

$20 at MicroCenter. $5 more will get you a brand new one online. Sansa's just a great brand.

      • I had the same model as the one in the picture above. Actually, mine was a Sansa 250, and it was 2 GB. It worked great, but not very compatible with a Mac. I had no problem adding media to it from my Mac, but I had to delete it from my PC because for some reason the Mac adds extra files that can only be seen by a PC. I think I'm going to go with a refurb Sansa, 8GB for 30-40 bucks. I just have to do a little saving.
