How Do You Handle an Aggressive Theme?

You put it in a head-lock and give it a noogie until it says “Uncle.”
Or you man-handle it like it’s nobody’s business.
I wished it were that easy.
So I didn’t get to continue my thoughts on the idea of our calling, because today I have experienced some serious problems with Wordpress. I began to wonder if I got hacked.
Upon logging in to my account in hopes of writing an article, I noticed that I had over 20 comments in my spam folder, and over 100 comments in my “pending” folder.
Don’t know what “pending” is? Pending is all the spam comments that your spam filter didn’t catch.
It took me nearly an hour and a half to finally get the machine up and running smoothly. I’m not sure what the problem was.
Thanks to help from a good friend of mine, situations like these are resolved rather quickly.
But that’s not all!
I also am having issues with my theme. Actually, I’ve had issues with my theme ever since I installed it. I like it, it just doesn’t seem to cut through the meat very well.
I have load issues, lag time, problems with certain pluggins, yadda, yadda, yadda. I am seriously thinking about changing themes again.
I am beginning to think that if I want something good, I am going to have to actually make a purchase instead of using the free stuff.
