Presently,
I am reminded of God’s steadfast love in our times of trials. When sin is crouching at the door, the temptation to let it in can be strong at times. Sometimes we do let it in, and other times we remain strong. Sometimes still, we peak out to get a glance at the sin before we shew it away. I would like to share some passages that have ministered to me in my times of resistance. It seems to me a little rebuke does a soul good.
“Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul.” 1 Peter 2:11
“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. Let no one say when he is tempted, ‘I am being tempted by God,’ for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.” James 1:12-15
