S-Election

Election day is over. So many people, so many voters, so much passion. The burning of the heart, the determination of the mind, the power of passion; all for something we have the potential to control: the election of our next president. I watched the speech of John McCain and how he was honoring the election of Obama. Everyone was dancing and shouting. They were so happy that Obama got elected.

Truly, I am concerned that today’s professing Christians are more concerned with politics than they are their position to Christ Jesus, our God and Savior. I have never said anything political on this blog, so I will not start. No, I will not be political, I will be Biblical. That being said, I am saddened at the election of Obama, considering his pro___ on anti-Biblical content (i.e. abortion, partial birth abortion, teenage abortion, same sex marriage, many others) and his hostility on Biblical guidance.

Most of all, I am deeply saddened at our nation exalting men rather than God. This nation has its heart so set on individualism and self-independence that it could not hear God if He was screaming at them. As a matter of fact, He did, and He still is. He screamed at us through the cross of Christ and through His resurrection. He screamed at us through his apostles and many, many, many martyrs of the faith throughout history. These are people that have died to preserve that which we are devaluing. He is screaming at us through our conscience, but maybe the conscience has been so callused through deliberate rejection and denial of Jesus Christ and God’s moral standard that few can have the sensitivity to hear His voice? Maybe God has, “given them over” so that they cannot hear His call?

I know God is sovereign, and that alone is most assuredly comforting to me. Not that I can “manipulate” my feelings, or my theology in efforts to make it still seem as though God is still in control, but because it is the truth. God’s plan is unfolding. I does not matter who is in office – ultimately – because God is working out His plan in His timing; I am in anticipation of witnessing the glory of God.

I may ruin my credit here, but who am I trying to please, God or man?

If you say you are a Christian, then prove it. I almost cannot stand it when someone says they “believe” in the Bible and live otherwise. Christianity is NOT a concept, it is a REALITY. So STOP acting like it is some cozy concept that you can throw around and manipulate it to “mean” whatever you want it to mean! Stop riding the fence!

The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God, says this: ‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth….’” Revelation 3:14-16

Christians: be who you are, the new creation that God has made you to be. Do not be afraid of standing up for what you believe! You need to be the witness God has made you to be!

For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” Romans 8:15

Something just burns in me when I see inconsistency in the lives of so-called believers. Not the inconsistency where the Christian sins, but the inconsistency that portrays an entirely different worldview at work in that so-called Christian. All I am saying is this: if you truly are a Christian, don’t be afraid of being that person! And if you are not truly a Christian and are merely acting as one, stop posing! Get on with the real deal: Find forgiveness, come to Christ, accept a changed heart, speak to an authentic Christ-follower and find out what Christianity is all about. If this does not interest you, just don’t call yourself something that you are not.

I’m finished.
